Los Angeles: Chinese action star Jackie Chan is in final talks with STX Entertainment to star in their next big action thriller "The Foreigner".

Based on the book The Chinaman by Stephen Leather, Chan, 61, will play a humble restaurant owner in London's Chinatown, reported Deadline.
After the death of his daughter, Chan's character receives no help from the authorities in finding the culprits responsible for the crime.
So years after leaving behind a life of war, he takes the law into his own hands to track down the group of terrorists who caused her death.
STX is still looking for a director to helm the film, but are said to be eyeing Nick Cassavetes, who directed "The Notebook" and "The Other Woman". The project is expected to start filming in October.
Chan's next project is "Kung Fu Panda" which is due to be released next January.
