Jackie shows off

Jackie Shroff is lolling in his vanity van, deep in conversation with someone about an accident that's just happened on the sets of his upcoming film Satrangi Parachute-- a bullet has accidentally pierced an actor's hand. Obviously one who has an opinion on everything, Jackie can't resist imparting gyaan on how youngsters need to be more careful. With a been-there, done-that air, he animatedly shares with CS some of the accidents that he's been involved in:

WHO: Jackie Shroff
WHAT: Talking about the accidents in his film career
WHERE: In Andheri

Horsing around
I remember Anil (Kapoor) and I were shooting for Andar Baahar and there was a song sequence where we had to ride horses. My ghodi lost control when she stepped into the water and we somersaulted together. Needless to say, the camera kept rolling and no one came to our rescue. Then my director walked up to me saying, great shot and they've actually used that clip in the film.

Fallen star
While shooting for my introduction scene in 1942- A Love Story, I had to run with Manisha Koirala holding me for support. A huge crowd of people had gathered near the sets to catch all the drama. In all the excitement, I twisted my ankle, tore a ligament and had to sit down. The crowds cashed in on the accident and started running towards me saying, 'Jackie beth gaya (Jackie sat down). Even though I was in excruciating pain, I had to act like a real hero and smile and pose with them for pictures. I obliged them all because I couldn't get up anyway.

Blast from the past
There was a blast scene that Abhishek (Bachchan) and I were shooting for in Refugee. It was dark and there were five successive blasts to happen, with each getting closer as we ran. We'd told the guys to maintain some distance between the blasts and us but they didn't seem to bother. By the end of it, both Abhishek and I were singed and decided to call it a day. I guess they couldn't have got a more authentic shot.

Low note
In Jaanoo, I had to maro style with a guitar and I'm not sure what I did, but I hit my eye with the instrument. There was a big blood balloon there in no time. We had to obviously delay the shooting, but I can't ever forget this accident; the scar below my eyebrow won't let me.
