“It is the most uncharitable and unreasonable comment you have made.”
Jagmohan Dalmiya was in no mood to hold back the hard talk in Chennai yesterday after he adorned the role of stand-in skipper of the Indian cricket board after president N Srinivasan stepped aside. The former BCCI and ICC chief uttered the above words to a probing journalist who suggested that yesterday’s Emergency Working Committee meeting was an eyewash.

“Nobody asked for his (Srinivasan’s) resignation. I can say nobody came forward. It was unnecessary, like going after a punching bag. It is the working committee which felt that way. There was no compromise,” stressed Dalmiya.
However it is believed that only former chief IS Bindra who heads the Punjab Cricket Association and Ajay Shirke asked Srinivasan to step down.
