New Delhi: Former Union minister Jaswant Singh, who is in coma since August last year after suffering head injury, was admitted to the Army Research and Referral Hospital here after developing symptoms of fever and respiratory distress.

But his condition is stable and soon he will be out of the ICU," said a senior doctor from the hospital. He was admitted yesterday night. The 76-year-old leader was admitted to the hospital on August 8 last year in a critical condition after his family found him lying on the floor of his house in an unconscious state.

The former BJP leader, who had also handled external affairs and finance ministry portfolios during the previous NDA regime, was expelled from BJP after he decided to contest the Lok Sabha polls from Barmer in Rajasthan as an independent after being denied a party ticket.
