Not that Sanath Jayasuriya is one of the most cheerful of Sri Lankan cricketers. He is a reserved guy, but nowadays it seems he is sulking. He has good reason not to be in the best of moods though.

That a modern great cannot find a place in the Lankan XI is sad. The harsh fact is that Jayasuriya was dropped from the last one-day international at Jamtha, near Nagpur.

It would have been a landmark match for him as Jamtha would have been the 100th international ground to be graced by Jayasuriya. It is not known if he can find a place in today's playing XI in Cuttack. "I have to score runs to get back into the team. It's as simple as that," Jayasuriya told MiD DAY yesterday.
