They met and became friends. Rawat often used to meet her when she would go to her institute. "Their friendship turned into love. Rawat had even proposed to her," said the police official. However, after a while Pooja started to disapprove of some of Rawat's habits. Meanwhile her family shifted from Sarojini Nagar to RK Puram.
Won't give up
"Pooja stopped talking to Rawat but he used to come to RK Puram to meet her. Once Pooja chided him and said she disliked him and wanted a break-up. Rawat couldn't accept this. He hatched a plan to teach her a lesson. He and his friend Manish, who lives in RK Puram, decided to kidnap Pooja," said the police.
On the day, Pooja was returning home after her classes from Saket. When she was near RK Puram, Rawat intercepted her in his car and asked her to sit with him, but she politely refused.
"Rawat then forcibly dragged her inside. Manish was also in the car. Pooja tried to call the police but Rawat snatched her cellphone. He then began thrashing her. Rawat then threw her out of the moving vehicle in the same area and drove off," said a police source.
Friend in need!
Pooja field an FIR with the police following which Rawat was arrested. He confessed to his crime and told the police that Manish was also with him. Police then arrested Manish too from his home.
