1) There is no term ‘weakness’ in medical books. The term weakness is always qualified i.e. abdominal weakness, cardiac weakness, respiratory weakness or neurological weakness etc.

2) The officer has made statements such as “Indrani suffers from chronic ischaemia — late supply of blood to brain — and that she is being treated for it”. Indrani is not getting treatment for ischaemia. The neurologist has opined that she is normal and the same is mentioned in the discharge card.

Singh’s response
Singh, said, “The JJ hospital dean has stated that they are going by the Kalina FSL findings, and not the Hinduja hospital reports which claim drug overdose. Also, Indrani had various issues like fainting, anxiety/ depression, low blood sugar and hence all this might cause ‘weakness’.”

When asked if he was then overruling the diagnoses by treating doctors, who even in their statements have stood by the drug overdose diagnoses, Singh said, “I am going by the JJ dean’s final report, along with other points that have been considered before making my submission.”
