Rowling, 50, who has turned screenwriter with the film, teased the scoop on her Twitter page, reported Entertainment Weekly. "I feel I owe you a bit of #FantasticBeasts information after you all got behind @Scotlandteam," she tweeted, referring to the Scotland rugby team's match against Ireland. She then revealed, "Well, I think it's widely known that characters of (Porpen)tina and Queenie are sisters, but not that their surname is Goldstein."

Porpentina (or Tina) is an American witch and the wife of Newt Scamander, the magizoologist and protagonist of Fantastic Beasts, while Queenie is her sister. Tina met Newt during his travels to discover new magical creatures, and she followed him back to the United Kingdom.

Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne is set in the role of Newt, while actress Katherine Waterston will play Tina and singer-songwriter Alison Sudol will play Queenie.

When Rowling dropped this bit, she was asked if the sisters are related to Anthony Goldstein, a background character in the books. She responded by tweeting, "Yes (but distant)." The film will be directed by David Yates, who helmed the last four 'Harry Potter' movies.
