Joe Hart asks Man City teammaes to enjoy the moment

Joe Hart is determined to “ride the wave” all the way to Premier League title glory.u00a0The Manchester City keeper was a virtual spectator as the Blues claimed a 1-0 win over Manchester United on Monday night to regain top spot in the Premier League table with only two games remaining.

Captain Vincent Kompany’s towering header from a David Silva corner in the first half ensured City completed a double over the neighbours. City thrashed United 6-1 at Old Trafford earlier this season.

Victory at Newcastle on Sunday, followed by a home win over QPR on the final day of the season will be enough for City to claim their first championship since 1968, unless United record improbably high wins over Swansea and Sunderland.

The England keeper can feel the momentum is with City. “We deserve to be in the position we are in — we are a good team, with good players and good fans and we are going places,” he said.

“Hopefully we can do it this year. You have to ride on that wave and enjoy it. There is no point in being robots. You have to feel that vibe and we felt the fans.”u00a0

Double Joy
This was Man City’s second double over United in the last 40 years. (City beat United 6-1 at Old Trafford). The other occurrence was 2007-08.

City’s triumphs
City have won the English title only twice. In 1936-37 and 1967-68.
