Vipul Shah has roped in John Abraham and Asin to play the lead roles in his adaptation of the Tamil superhit, Kaakha Kaakha. Vipul, who has only adapted Gujarati plays so far, is remaking a Tamil film in Hindi for the first time. John will play a ruthless officer of the special squad battling organised crime and so, has already started building his muscles to match the demands of the character. While his character was originally played by Surya, Asin will play the schoolteacher originally essayed by Jyothika. Vipul's first choice for the role was Genelia D'Souza, but since Genelia is already starring opposite John in Hook Ya Crook, Vipul decided to go for a fresh pairing and chose Asin, the heroine of his not-so-hit movie London Dreams.
