Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have settled their divorce, resolving one of Hollywood's ugliest break-ups on the eve of a court hearing, which threatened to expose details of their tumultuous relationship to public glare.
Heard filed legal documents on Tuesday to the superior court of Los Angeles withdrawing her request for a domestic violence restraining order in a deal which included a reported $7m divorce settlement.

A statement was published by the actors, which read, "Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain. There was never an intent of physical or emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future."
Heard, 30, filed for divorce in May and obtained a temporary restraining order, alleging her Oscar-nominated husband assaulted her after a drunken argument in their LA apartment.
She claimed she'd suffered 'excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse from Johnny,' citing the 52-year-old actor's drug and alcohol abuse and 'exceptionally scary' temper which 'has proven many times to be physically dangerous and/or life-threatening to me.'
The couple was married for just under 18 months. Depp had two children from a previous relationship with French singer and model Vanessa Paradis.
