Journey into the war-zone with Gere

Battle scarred: Richard Gere and Terrance Howard battle the ghosts of war in The Hunting Party

Movie: The Hunting Party (English)
Cast: Richard Gere, Terrance Howard and Jesse Eisenberg
Direction: Richard Shepard
Theatres: PVR, Inox, Fame
Rating: 3/5

War reporter Simon Hunt (Gere) loses his job after suffering an on-camera meltdown while reporting from war-struck Bosnia in the mid 90s. He roams the globe selling exclusive tapes to make a quick buck. He reunites with his friend, cameraman Duck (Terrence), the most sought-after professional in his previous company, to begin a fresh adventure. They launch a hunt for the man who is responsible for the war.

The movie brings to light the situation of a post-war Bosnia, with three war journalists. The Hunting Party is a movie worth watching, if only to see how inhuman human beings can be.

What's hot: Richard Gere is way too sexy to be a worn-out war journalist, but he notches up a brilliant performance. The cinematography is awesome.

What's not: Terrence is completely wasted in the movie. The occasional visions of slaughter bring to light the gory world of a war journalist, not a pleasant fact to digest.

Verdict: Racy and watchable for the sake of sexy Gere!
