Riding on Justin Dharmai's brace, St Stanislaus (Bandra) defeated Don Bosco (Borivali) 3-0 to lift the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) Vijay Raheja boys' U-12 knockout hockey title at their home ground on Friday.
Justin gave the Bandra outfit the lead in the eighth minute and doubled it in the 12th minute. Stanislaus side completely dominated the proceedings and led 2-0 at half time. Raaquib Merchant scored the third goal in the 35th minute.

Justin, who also plays football for his school team, said hockey has helped him improve his reflexes. “I started playing football in Class II and hockey in Class III. I love hockey, but I can never stop playing football as well. Hockey helps me being quick on the field. I’m glad that I could score in the final and win the title for my school,” the 11-year-old Bandra resident told MiD DAY.
Axel Fernandes of St Stanislaus, who scored 10 goals, was adjudged the best player of the tournament. Justin missed out on the award by a goal, but he isn’t disappointed. “I am happy for Axel as he is a better player and deserves to be the best player. I never expected to score in the final,” said Justin.
Meanwhile, in the U-10 Oliver Andrade Trophy League semi-final on Saturday, defending champions St Stanislaus ‘A’ (Bandra) handed out a 3-0 defeat to St Francis D’Assisi (Borivli) at St Stanislaus ground, Bandra. The final is slated for today.u00a0
