After being called out in West's speech at the gala night on Sunday, the "SexyBack" singer tweeted that the rapper was "cute", reports aceshowbiz.com.

"Kanye is so cute, y'all," Timberlake said.

Some fans were quick to react to the 34-year-old singer's tweet, saying that his comment seemed sarcastic.

A user by the Twitter handle @sHy_119, wrote: "He's Being Sarcastic."

Another user @jensolo5 tweeted: "I was thinking JT was dropping some sarcasm maybe."

Following the backlash, Timberlake shared: "Jokes, you guys... Jokes. #chill."

Later on, the "Mirrors" singer praised West after he watched the rapper's full speech.

"Btw... I JUST watched my man 'Ye's FULL speech... He always has a point. And I support it. #truth," he said.

During his speech, West called out Timberlake while giving an example of how awards were sometimes not presented to well-deserved artists.

"I sat at the Grammys and saw Justin Timberlake and Cee-Lo lose. Gnarls Barkley and the 'FutureSex' 'SexyBack' album," the 38-year-old rapper said, before coming clean that he didn't try to put Timberlake "on blast".

"Justin, I ain't trying to put you on blast but I saw that man in tears, bro. And I was thinking like, he deserves to win album of the year," he added.
