In its decade-old journey, singer Kailash Kher’s band, Kailasa, has garnered global acclaim, cutting hit singles and albums to touring the world, they have, inarguably, carved a niche for themselves in India’s musical space. Now, the frontman of the outfit, Kailash, tells us that they are set for their first-ever international collaboration.

Says Kailash, “We toured the US and Canada recently for concerts. While in New York, we met popular jazz bassist Richard Bona. He told me he is a fan of our music and listens to all our songs. I was surprised to learn that he performs our hit number Teri Deewani at all his concerts. So, I proposed the plan for collaboration and he was excited about it. We discussed it briefly over dinner,” says Kailash.

The singer adds that Bona also invited him to his studio in France. “The nature of our band’s and Richard’s music is similar; there’s a lot of folk influence. So, I am sure the collaboration will be remarkable. I am planning to invite him to India to discuss the album further. I want the collaboration to fructify this year,” says Kailash.
