South import Kajal Aggarwal, who featured in the Ajay Devgn starrer Singham, is a Mumbai girl. As she has made her mark in Tamil and Telegu films, many feel that she belongs to the South. But she is a Punjabi kudi who lives in south Mumbai.

Kajal, who began with modelling, has studied at St Anne’s School at Colaba and at KC and Jai Hindi College. Her upcoming film’s co-star Akshay Kumar would often speak to her in Punjabi on the sets of Neeraj Pandey’s film.

Says a source, “As both Akshay and Kajal are Punjabi, the two would converse in their language between shots. The Khiladi however teased her for her anglicised Punjabi accent. Akshay would often break into Punjabi and wait for her to say something. When he found her pronunciations odd, he would poke fun at her. The two would then share a good laugh as Kajal would try and say the word in the correct manner.”

u00a0Adds the source, “They also bonded over shared interests which included their love for Punjabi food! During a wedding song picturisation of a bhangra track, the two had great fun, as Kajal brushed up her rusty Punjabi with the Khiladi.”

Apparently the actress feels as she does not speak often in Punjabi, her pronunciations were never correct but after working with the Khiladi she managed to say it right.
