However, what was remarkable about Nar’s effort was that it came only eight days after the sudden death of his mother due to heart attack. Life has completely changed for this 29-year-old after the tragic incident. “Eveything has changed for me after her death. I was extremely close to her and she was my biggest strength. She had always supported me and encouraged my passion for the game. She was the person I always looked up to for taking any decision in life,” he said.

Nar dedicated the knock to his mother, saying: “It is a very special knock for me. Honestly, I was thinking of her all the time when I was batting. Each and every run I scored is for her.”

Nar was busy playing a Kanga League game when he got the news on October 4. “I was playing when my family called me to inform that my mother was unwell and had been rushed to the hospital.”

Rohit Rane, coach of Victory CC lauded Nar’s courage. “We went straight to the hospital after the match. The whole team was there at his house for the last rites which ended at three in the morning. The team did not expect him to come on the field the next day but he surprised everyone by turning up for the match. He even batted in the second innings which is commendable,” said Rane.
