Kanga League: Rain emerges 'top' performer

Early morning showers and persistent rain during the day made it impossible for cricketers to play at a stretch.

Six of the seven matches in the premier division were called off without a ball being bowled. The MIG Cricket Club ground in Bandra East witnessed the sole ‘A’ division match played between hosts MIG and Apollo CC.

Only 87 minutes of play was possible. The next round of matches will be held on September 16 when 2009 champions (the last time the League was completed) Greater Mumbai Police take on New Hind SC at Marine Drive. Former champions National CC will take on Cricket Club of India at the Brabourne Stadium.
