If the latest buzz is to be believed, R Balki's next starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor was initially supposed to feature Anushka Sharma as the young actor's love interest. But somewhere down the line, he apparently decided to change his plan.

Says a source, "Balki was first planning the film with Anushka, so it came as a surprise when it was announced that Kareena had been cast in the film."

In April, the filmmaker had signed Arjun, but an announcement about the actress was made only a month later. It is said Balki shares a warm bond with Arjun's father Boney Kapoor and his wife, Sridevi. 'English Vinglish' (2012), the Bollywood comeback of Sridevi, was directed by Balki's wife Gauri Shinde.

On his part, Arjun had openly expressed his admiration for Kareena, claiming that he always had a big crush on her and was looking forward to share screen space with her.

Balki, however, says: "The script that I am currently working on was written for Arjun and Kareena." When asked if Anushka was the initial choice, he chose not to respond.

The yet-to-be-titled project, which is apparently a conversation-based movie, will be shot in north India. Arjun and Kareena will be seen as a married couple while Amitabh Bachchan is expected to do a cameo.
