She's often called the prettiest face in India and is among the most searched for names on the Internet. But Katrina Kaif doesn't bank on her good looks most of the time. The newly appointed brand ambassador of Lux talks to CS about what beauty means to her: 
Being me
Beauty is about being comfortable in the way you looku00a0-- being yourself and being proud of it. You can't possibly feel beautiful if you are trying to ape someone else or are trying to live up to someone else's idea of beauty. You'll only end up feeling unhappy about yourself. But, having said that, I also feel that it is important to care about oneself. You should regularly hit the gym to stay in shape and look after your face and appearance. At no stage should you just let yourself go.
Beauty basics
I'm of the school of thought that beauty is very personal. One person might find you beautiful while another might not. I can't derive my satisfaction from what others think of me. Compliments don't give me any sense of power. If you appraise yourself by the yardstick that others set for you, your sense of self-worth would be set on a very weak foundation.
The inside story
You need to be beautiful from within to appear beautiful from the outside. What you stand for and what you achieve are concrete determinants of your beauty. I would not say that a pretty face is enough to be successful. That might hold true in the modelling industry or the glamour line. It's baseless otherwise.
