Even though Uddhav Thackeray, was in Kalyan for the Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation elections on Friday, his target was BJP and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Taking potshots at the BJP, he started his speech with, "This is not a simple fight, till now we fought with our enemies, but now we have to fight our friends. But let me tell you, you have seen our friendship but don't challenge us to show our (waghnakh) tiger nails."
Taking a direct dig at the Chief Minister, and his party's tirade against Pakistan, Uddhav said, "The CM says if Shiv Sena does hooliganism, he will put them behind bars, but then giving protection to Pakistanis is a misfortune. Has the CM gone and seen the homes of our martyrs? I am proud that Shiv Sainiks threw ink. What's wrong in opposing Pakistan?"
Attacking CM's jibe over corrupt candidates from Shiv Sena, Uddhav retorted, 'I am giving good candidates, but BJP after breaking the alliance inducted those who are corrupt. CM Devendra Fadnavis should first act against his own party people. He is the Chief Minister and Home Minister but banks are still being looted and culprits aren't caught."
Here are some of the excerpts from the rally.
On BJP breaking alliance with Sena
"We are with you in state government, and you say that from Parliament to Panchayat one government, then what are we doing in between."
On his campaign in KDMC
"Only three nights are remaining, but in this fight I don't see Congress and NCP anywhere, and then we have engines leaving false smoke, but if we start speaking our work then these three days won't be sufficient. The last few nights are important and yes I am asking the votes in the name Balasaheb Thackeray, because I am taking ahead his tradition."
He maintained that he is forced yo speak about his party's work, "I have come to tell you to what Shiv Sena has done here, because, what we have done has to be told to public by us and I have been able to do it because of all the party workers. Have a look at the work done by us. We have Olympic size swimming pools, we cleaned Kala Talav and now its gora Talav"
Dig at Narendra Modi
"I heard Narendra Modi is coming to campaign in Kalyan and I can believe it also because their slogan is Parliament to Panchayat. The party also showed a video featuring martyrs family saying that they do not want any ties with Pakistan in a bid to further their anti-Pakistan agenda."
