The class X student was allegedly kidnapped by two persons in a white Maruti car from Harsh Vihar area on November 30

Seems like another display of police apathy. A 16-year-old class X student was allegedly kidnapped by two persons in a white Maruti car from near Loni crossing in Harsh Vihar area on November 30. His parents approached the police but they allegedly refused to lodge an FIR. On the evening of December 1 the boy managed to ditch the kidnappers and returned home with some injuries. However, the police are still not ready to file a case.

The victim, Rohit (name changed on request) was on his way to school when he was abducted. According to a police source, he was passing through Loni crossing when a white Maruti car intercepted him. Before he could understand anything, two persons got off the vehicle. They covered his mouth, dragged him inside the car and drove away to Meerut. The parents of the victim approached the police when he did not return home for some time. But cops allegedly did not take any action.

The police source said that Rohit had become unconscious. When he regained consciousness he found himself in another city. He fought with the kidnappers when they untied his hand to give him some food.

Escape act
"He tried to run. One of the abductors ran behind him and hit him with a stick. Rohit suffered injuries on his nape but managed to flee. The kidnappers had removed his clothes, he was only in his innerwear," he said.

Helping hand
The source also said that Rohit happened to meet a street vendor who helped him reach the nearest railway station. Rohit boarded a train and got off at Shahdara.

"He was hiding in the toilet of the train. With the help of some passengers he managed to reach home. He narrated the whole story to his parents who then again approached the police," said the source. He also said that police will now take Rohit's statement.
