KIWI skipper Vettori says he was short of bowlers

New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori threw everything he had at the Indians. He had unconventional field settings for VVS Laxman, threw the ball to part-timers Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor, employed an 8-2 on-side field while bowling himself, and even bowled former wicketkeeper Brendon McCullum.

However, his under-staffed bowling unitu00a0-- missing medium-pacer Jesse Ryder, who was unable to bowl, and quickie Hamish Bennett, being sent home for treatment ufffd meant he was short of ammunition.

"I would have loved to have used Hamish Bennett in short, sharp spells and on that wicket Jesse Ryder would have been a bit of a handful. That would have meant Jeetan Patel and myself could have attacked a little more," the Kiwi skipper rued at the end of the Test.

As for the previous day's hero, Chris Martin, Vettori said: "He (Martin) said he just couldn't feel his legs in the
second session."
