"Most definitely!" said Kunal on his plans to direct the "Vicky Donor" actor and added: "I love working with Ayushmann and I love his acting so much that one day I will definitely direct him."
The 33-year-old expressed his views Tuesday at the success party of Rohan Sippy-directed comedy of errors "Nautanki Saala!".
Before entering films, Kunal was active in theatre world and in 2006 he directed a play called "The President Is Coming", which he later adapted into a movie and released it with the same title.
As an actor, he did films like "Loins of Punjab Presents" and "Delhi Belly".
Meanwhile, Kunal's brother-actor Aditya will be seen as the male lead in "Aashiqui 2", which is coming out April 26.
Directed by Mohit Suri, "Aashiqui 2" stars Shraddha Kapoor opposite Aditya and it is being co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt.
"I wish the whole team of 'Aashiqui'... It's looking kick ass, so I am really looking forward to it," Kunal said.
