Jannat director to start a line of funky lounges; the first opened in Pune today!

Kunal Deshmukh who made his directorial debut with Jannat last year, is now exploring other business possibilities. The director will open a 15000 sq ft dining place in Pune today.

The director is now planning to come up with the same concept in Mumbai after gauging the business's success in Pune.

An obviously excited Kunal says, "The place is called Trikaya and it is a fine dining restaurant and lounge. It is a huge place on top of a mall in Pune at a prime location.

We wanted to start out with a restaurant line in Mumbai first but I wanted to take small steps and see how it goes in Pune and then bring it to our city."

Branching out

Kunal continues, "I am very excited with this decision. I wanted to branch out and do different things and Trikaya is the first step towards that. I have two other partners in this.

Sahil Saigal is one of my partners and he has been in the hotel business for a long time and so he is running the show and I am trying my bit with the promotion. He has been my friend since childhood and it was his idea to get into this."

About his films, Kunal notes, "I have just finished filming my second film, Tum Mile starring Emraan Hashmi.

I am working on the post-production of the film right now and once this producers' strike is called off, my producer Mukesh (Bhatt) and I can decide when to plan the release of the film."
