Los Angeles: David Sandberg, the Swedish writer/director behind "Kung Fury", recently posted a photo of a script titled "Kung Fury II: The Movie" to Instagram.
"Today, Kung Fury turns 1. Today, the future is written Stay tuned," Sandberg wrote.
The original film came from humble beginnings as a much shorter teaser trailer, reported Entertainment Weekly.
Thanks to generous funding through Kickstarter, Sandberg was able to develop his concept into a 30-minute film, which screened at the Cannes Film Festival. It later found distribution on Netflix.
