Common coffee brewing mistakes and means to avoid them

Coffee brewing
Coffee lovers, who always look out for the perfect cup of coffee, definitely love to brew those dark brown beans even at home. Unfortunately, coffee lovers and brewing experts mess up many times while brewing the beans at home. This can drastically change the taste of coffee and might not give the real pleasure of drinking the beverage.

Coffee brewing

Avoid making these mistakes so that you can have a better cup of home brewed coffee from now on:
1. Buying pre-ground beans,
2. Storing the beans in a freezer or fridge,
3. Making use of old beans, probably beans bought one or two months back,
4. Buying the wrong size of grounds,
5. Using boiling water to brew coffee,
6. Taking too much or too less coffee beans in proportion to the water measurement,
7. Allowing the right percolation time,
8. Making use of impure water, and
9. Grinding beans before hand and storing the same for future use.

Coffee brewing
If you think that you have done these mistakes in the past, follow these smart coffee brewing tips to make a flawless cup of coffee at home:
1. Buy only high quality beans, most preferably from reputed stores or coffee shops.
2. Keep the coffee fresh (brew it within two weeks from the date of purchase). While buying look for the roast date on the packet.
3. Do not over-freeze coffee beans. Keep a check on temperature and duration under which beans are kept.
4. Store the coffee beans in airtight containers.
5. Grind beans only before use. Once coffee is ground, it degrades rapidly. Grind, brew and make the drink immediately for the best flavour.
6. Do not use tap water or water which is heavy on minerals. Use filtered or mineral water for best results.
7. According to experts, coffee’s ideal brewing temperature is 199 and 205 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not pour boiling water right from the kettle to brew coffee.
8. Take one tablespoon of properly ground coffee per 6 ounces of water. You can then add one or two more tablespoons for an extra strong cup.
9. Check out the machine’s manual properly to find which size of grind is ideal.

Coffee brewing
Nothing can beat the taste of freshly brewed homemade coffee. Be it your morning bed coffee or an evening cup, home-brewed coffee always gives a heavenly feeling. Next time, ensure you follow the ways on how to brew coffee and thank us later. Happy drinking!
