The actor plans to wow the world with a music event at his club for the Formula 1 after party
Roping in Lady Gaga to perform solo on the stage was no mean feat, says Arjun Rampal who has finally landed in New Delhi after a harrowing time at London airport. The actor headed straight to his nightclub to look into the arrangements for the grand Formula 1 weekend party.
On October 30, his club will be hosting Lady Gaga. Says Arjun, "The idea is to bring together two glamorous high-profile events the Fornula 1 and an entertainment evening by global icons. It's Samir Kaul's brainchild. He suggested the Formula 1 tie up.
We are also hosting the after-parties and getting the best global talent. The whole world would be watching." The actor adds, "On 29th we have Edward Maya and Lady Gaga the next day.
We''ve 45 models flying in from London. We've been preparing for three months. I want to show the world what India is capable of. The media from the world is here in Delhi now. Next year I hope to make it even bigger."
Speaking about getting Gaga to perform, Arjun says, "I sent a proposal to her management. Then the discussions started. They knew they were going to be part of history. For me, the nicest thing is that all the deejays of club get to be a part of the event."
Arjun has just completed Sudhir Mishra's film co-starring Chitrangda Singh. He has also ventured into television for the first time and is shooting for a chat show called Love To Hate You.
"It will bring together a celebrity every week and a celebrity-hater, someone who has an opinion on the celebrity. Today there are so many avenues to get information on celebrities, not all of them are accurate."
Arjun kickstarts the show by featuring himself and a journalist. "I've my share of opinionated critics. People I have never met have called me wooden and arrogant. I don't want it to be just celebrities from the entertainment world. I also want sportspersons and politicians."
