On Didi's birthday, city lyricist gets gift of her voice for his song

Sandeep Khare (37) can not believe his stars. Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar has agreed to sing a song written and composed by him for a Marathi film.

Yesterday wasu00a0 the renowned singer's birthday. She turned 81.

"I am absolutely thrilled to know that Lataji will be singing a song penned by me," said Khare. "The song will be recorded in Mumbai soon."

Mangeshkar has confirmed that she will be singing for a Marathi suspense thriller produced by Sanjay Malvankar.

Her brother Hridaynath Mangeshkar is scoring the music for the film, the title of which is yet to be decided.


"I was really not sure whether Lata Didi would sing my song. It was a pleasant surprise when I got the
news from the legend herself and she asked me to visit her house Prabhu Kunj," said Khare.

Dr Hemant Wakankar, a joint replacement expert who operated on Mangeshkar at the Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in the city, said that she was very active and enthusiastic and was already busy with her new assignment.

Walkankar had operated on the singer in January last year.
