Former Soviet Union gymnast Larisa Latynina says she is not concerned about losing her record as the most decorated Olympian to American swimmer Michael Phelps
Phelps secured his 18th and 19th Olympic medals in the pool on Tuesday to take him past Latynina's mark of 18 medals, which she won while competing for the Soviet Union between 1956 and 1964. The record had stood for 48 years.

Asked about her reaction to the news of Phelps' triumph, she told AFP: “I felt absolutely normal. I was ready. I had been expecting it. Of course, I would have preferred if it had been a Russian. It would have been better!”
