Shaw believes United must build on their 1-0 win in the Manchester derby

Manchester: Luke Shaw believes Manchester United need to use the "massive" derby win against Manchester City to start a winning run.

Confidence was at a low ebb for both sides as they met in Wednesday's EFL Cup tie, with City unable to eke out victories of late and United reeling from Sunday's 4-0 humiliation at Chelsea.
Mata's winner
Juan Mata swept home in the second half to give United the bragging rights as well as a timely shot in the arm, bolstering confidence at an important time in the season.
Shaw wants to build on the 1-0 win when Burnley arrive in the Premier League on Saturday, with the left-back also targeting wins at Fenerbahce and Swansea before the international break.
"It was very important," the left-back said. "We focused on Man City leading up to the game, but we knew how big this game was.
"We saw (Pep) Guardiola said it was like a final and to us that is what it felt like and to get the win was massive.
"I think a big confidence boost after obviously the disappointing result that we bounced back, got a win and now we need to go on a winning streak I would say."
It was certainly an impressive response to Sunday's humbling at Stamford Bridge.
Jose Mourinho used his programme notes to apologise for the heavy loss and told his players to make amends on the field.
'It's all about confidence'
"He said it's all about confidence and the one that gives it their all," Shaw, a frustrated onlooker against Chelsea, said.
"I think at times that's what we did and we defended really well towards the end against City. We knew they were going to come and start putting up the centre-backs for the long balls and crosses, but as a unit and as a defensive block I thought we did well towards the end to keep the win."
The reward for overcoming Guardiola's men is a home quarter-final against West Ham, although Shaw had been hoping to see some old friends at St Mary's.
