Mark David Chapman, 61, who shot dead Beatles legend John Lennon in Manhattan in December 1980, has been denied parole for the ninth time due to the “celebrity-seeking nature” of his crime.

Mark was sentenced of 20 years of imprisonment, but after a hearing on Monday, his application for parole was rejected by a three-person panel, despite acknow edging his strong “institutional records and rehabilitative efforts”.
Chapman’s petition for parole has come up every two years since 2000, but has been rejected each time.
On December 8, 1980, Chapman staked out the Manhattan apartment building where former Beatle John Lennon lived with his wife, Yoko Ono, and their son, Sean.
