12 live rounds seized from Palande's house
Now, cops book Arun Tikku murder suspect under Arms Act
In fresh charges pressed against Vijay Palande who is a prime suspect in multiple murders, cops have booked him for possessing 12 live rounds. The Crime Branch has registered a case against Palande in the Amboli police station after recovering the active cartridges from his house at Oberoi Springs, Oshiwara which comes under the Amboli police’s purview. Cops have booked him under sections 3, 5 and 325 of the Arms Act, said a police source.
The Crime Branch sleuths got hold of the cartridges of 9 mm pistol from Palande’s house on Thursday, while investigating his illegal passports. Officials are probing why the accused had kept live rounds with him, and how he was planning on using them. They believe that he could have employed them to commit a serious crime. The recovery can reveal other murkier plans of the serial killer, for which he had stored the rounds, said a Crime Branch source.
