Navi Mumbai: Bodies of 'missing' teens found on railway tracks

Two families of teenagers were frantically searching for their boys who had gone missing on Sunday. On Monday evening, the Navi Mumbai families were informed that the dead bodies of their boys had been found on the railway tracks of the Trans Harbour route.

Mayur Ramdas Urle (15) and Shubham Krusnath Molawade (16) left their homes on Sunday evening on Mayur’s bicycle. They were going to attend a pooja at Mayur’s relative’s house nearby. However, they never reached the place. When both families realised they were missing, they panicked.

They waited for a day, hoping the boys would return on their own. However, when there was no news, they went to Rabale police station to register a missing complaint. As they were describing the incident, the police informed them that Vashi GRP had found unidentified bodies of two boys on Sunday night.

Parshuram Karyakarte, senior police inspector of Vashi GRP, said, “A passenger informed us about two dead bodies lying on the tracks between Rabale and Ghansoli. Since they had no identification on them, tracing their families was difficult. We had informed all police stations and on Monday, their families contacted us from Rabale police station.”

On Tuesday morning, the bodies of the two boys were handed over to their families. Post mortem report revealed that Shubham died due to head injuries and Mayur suffered shock due to multiple injuries.

Mayur’s bicycle is untraceable, but the keys were found in his pocket.

Neighbours of Ghansoli residents said that Mayur was giving his Std VIII exams and Shubham had just appeared for his SSC exams.
