The boy Abhishek Yadav, who came with Ruchi Yadav to the city, was accosted by the girl’s family members, and taken to Vasai, where they killed him and buried him in the forest. The Valiv police found the boy’s highly decomposed body on Sunday (‘15-year-old’s decomposed body found near Vasai fort’, June 18).

Police, after taking necessary permissions from the local civic body, performed an on-the-spot autopsy and buried the body again. His identity was discovered after the Kurla Government Railway Police (GRP) floated a missing complaint about a Std X boy, and his parents identified their son’s belongings.

The couple, along with a friend, Chotu, had actually escaped from Ghazipur in UP on May 26. The girl’s mother had registered a kidnapping case against Yadav and Chotu. After learning from someone that her daughter had gone to Mumbai, she called up her husband Gulab, who stays in Kandivli.

“On May 28, the trio arrived at Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Kurla, where Gulab, his brother Subhash and domestic help Chandraprakash Yadav accosted them,” said an officer from Kurla GRP. Chotu managed to flee back to Ghazipur, where local police arrested him in the kidnapping case.

Here, Gulab took the couple to his Kandivli home, where they were tied up for two days. Gulab, his brother and help allegedly then took the teen to the Vasai forest, killed him with a sharp weapon and buried his body there. “A post-mortem report says he was stabbed thrice — on hand, chest and neck,” said a Kurla GRP official.

In a bid to remove all links to the murder, Gulab ties his daughter’s hands and feet, and pushes her into a well to drown. However, locals managed to save her and put her in safe custody with the Ghazipur police

Gulab later took his daughter back to Ghazipur and tried murdering her in cold blood — he tied up her hands and legs, and pushed her into a well. However, locals managed to save her; she is in safe custody with the Ghazipur police.

When Abhishek’s father, Vijay Bahadur, confronted Gulab and demanded to know where his son was, Gulab boasted that his son would never return. The boy’s family rushed to the local police to register a case, who then sent the family to Mumbai. The family then registered a kidnapping case with the Kurla GRP on June 10.

Investigations botched up
“We searched a lot for the boy and even checked Gulab’s Kandivli residence, but couldn’t find anything there,” recalled the official.

The GRP officials then sent a wireless message to all police stations about the missing boy, to which the Valiv police responded. The body has been sent to J J Hospital for post-mortem. Chandraprakash was arrested by the UP police yesterday, but the brothers are still absconding.

On the other hand, the Kurla GRP is enraged at the way in which Valiv police handled the case, the latter having only registered an accidental death report (ADR) initially. Senior Police Inspector Vijay Dabholkar of the Kurla GRP said, “The Valiv police should’ve registered an offence in the primary stages during the post-mortem.

Injuries on the body could be clearly seen. This is a case of honour killing and the boy was only 15 – they should’ve taken the case seriously. We couldn’t find any evidence on the spot; the police managed to wipe out any clues we could’ve found. We have written to the department calling for action against their shameful work.”
