"Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives on board Flight MH17. We stand with them in this hour of grief," he said in a tweet. All 298 people on board the plane were killed yesterday after the jet was shot down by "terrorists" over war-torn eastern Ukraine near the Russian border.
