Skipper Alastair Cook has credited England's brilliant 266-run victory over India in the third Test to group unity and their determination to fight back after the loss at Lord's.

"In this game, we managed to maintain the pressure throughout the game and that made a difference," he said.


Woakes did a good job
Cook was spot-on in his analysis as England won each of the 13 sessions in the Test. And he made sure he praised those teammates who contributed to the win, although their efforts didn't reflect on the scoresheet.


"I am going to mention Chris Woakes because he bowled with great pace and control although he didn't get a wicket," said Cook.

He also praised Moeen Ali, stating he had improved rapidly since making his Test debut against Sri Lanka earlier this season.

"I have not seen anyone improve at that rate. He doesn't bowl that much for Worcester as Ajmal is the lead spinner there. On a wicket that had some turn, he proved he is an attacking option as well."
