The accused has been operating for the last two decades, and the only time he was not active was when he was in jail for four years
A serial housebreaker who has more than 200 cases registered against him in the last 20 years has been arrested for breaking into three houses in Borivli in March.
The accused, Hajidali Sabarali Mirza Baig alias Langda, has been operating since 1994 and has around 120 cases registered against him in Pune itself. According to the police, the only time when Baig was not active was when he was in jail for four years between 2008 and 2012.

In March, the accused, who operates under the gang name Mirza Baig, broke into three houses in Uddhav Nagar, Borivli (East) and stole valuables worth around R3 lakh. The case was registered with Dahisar police station and during investigation, they found out that Baig, along with his accomplices, was the mastermind behind the burglary.
After receiving a tip-off, a team from Crime Branch arrested Baig in Borivli on Friday, where he was about to commit another burglary. According to the police, Baig has 40 cases registered against him in Mumbai, 120 in Pune and several others in Thane area. He has earlier been arrested by Mahim, Ghatkopar, Chembur, Nehru Nagar, Mulund and Tilak Nagar police officials.
In 2008, he was put behind bars, and was released in 2012, after which he started committing the crimes again. After his release, Baig had broken into several houses in Arnala beach area, Manickpur, MHB, Borivli, Silvassa, etc. The accused will be handed over to Dahisar police and cops are currently hunting for his accomplices.
