Baripada (Odisha): Police today arrested a a couple on the charge of indulging in the ponzi activities under the cover of an advertisement agency in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.
"The police arrested Sujata Das and her husband Bharat Chandra Das, a Central government officer, on charge of running chitfund activities," said Suresh Chandra Jena, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Baripada.

Police said the Das couple was running an agency in the name of Sunray Advertisement at Bagda Road in Baripada town here. Though Sujata Das was officiating as the director of the agency, her husband Bharat was operating the agency.
The police arrested the Das couple while their son Abhisek is absconding, Jena said. Based on the complaint of a man, the police registered a case against Das couple various sections of IPC, Jena said adding that the agency received deposits worth Rs 1 crore
after luring the investors of doubling the amount in two years.
