Two days after a youngster lost his life and another his leg in train accidents, two men were severely injured on Thursday night in train accidents at Jogeshwari and Mumbra. Both youngsters stood at the door, slipped and sustained injuries.


They were rushed to KEM hospital. One of the victims, Mumbra resident Taivar Ali, is in the ICU and critical.At 8.30 pm, 27-year-old Ali Farooqi fell off the train at Jogeshwari station’s platform. At 10.30 pm on the same day, Ali, too, slipped between Mumbra and Kalva stations.


Farooqi, a driver, said that he spent a painful 20 minutes before being noticed and moved to a medical facility by the railway police authorities. “I was returning from work and stood at the door when my hands slipped and I fell on the Jogeshwari platform,” said Farooqi.


The railway canteen employees informed the Andheri GRP officials about the accident, and Farooqi was rushed to Cooper Hospital. Doctors suggested that they take him to KEM Hospital for further treatment. Farooqi has severely sprained his neck, injured his right leg and can be discharged after a week.

Ali, on the other hand, has injured his left eye and left hand. “He was rushed to Shivaji Hospital at Kalva and later to KEM hospital,” said a police official.
