Lenovo Vibe X3

Lenovo had a shaky start when it first arrived in the Indian market. Things changed for good, however, after the success of A6000 series, which was shortly followed by the successful K3 Note phone. While the entry-level devices were gaining some traction for the Chinese company, it’s the Vibe series that needed some push.

A quick look at the Vibe X3 is enough to tell you that Lenovo has taken some design inspiration from the Vibe S1. The curve at the back is reminiscent to the Vibe S1 but instead of the glossy back surface, Lenovo has gone with a matte finish this time, which facilitates a better grip. The metal sides make it more durable. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the back, just below the camera, while the dual loudspeakers sit at the top and bottom of the front display.

Made for entertainment
The Vibe X3 features a 5.5-inch Full HD PerfectView display with a 178-degree wide-viewing angle, high contrast ratio of 1500:1 and is capable of displaying 100 per cent NTSC colour gamut. Jargons aside, the display is really beautiful with crisp text and rich colours, making watching movies and videos a treat.

The front-facing dual speakers are loud and clear and are further spruced up with Dolby Atmos integration. Additionally, the phone has a 32-bit mobile audio DAC, ESS SABRE 9018 that can play hi-res audio with a good dynamic range and ultra-low distortion.

The last piece of the entertainment puzzle in the Vibe X3 is TheaterMax, first introduced in the Lenovo K4 Note. When coupled with VR glasses, TheaterMax enhances the video-viewing experience to make it more immersive. One thing to note here, TheaterMax is meant for every aspect of the phone so it works with videos, photos and even games.

On the camera side, the Vibe X3 has a 21MP PDAF camera that takes some pretty pictures. The camera interface is simple to use and even includes a Pro mode for users who want to fiddle with white balance, ISO sensitivity, focus and more to get that perfect picture. The camera also supports 4K video recording. As for the front, you’ve got the 8MP fixed-focus sensor that takes care of the selfies.

The 3500mAh is also an added bonus that not only lasts more than a day but also gives us a couple of hours of video every day.
