Some Test cricketers and ex-Mumbai Ranji Trophy players will not be at the pavilion end to watch today's World T20 semi-final clash between India and West Indies. It is learnt that they have been given West Stand passes. The erstwhile domestic players are used to sitting in the Garware Pavilion area where they get a good view of the action while the Vijay Merchant Pavilion offers a cross view.

"The MCA Pavilion seats are reserved for MCA members while the Divecha Pavilion seats are meant for MCA club members. We have always given match passes to former Test players and our first-class cricketers in the Garware Pavilion.

"However, this time, due to players' dug-out arrangement being right in front of the Garware Pavilion, around 160 seats have been blocked so we have to accommodate some in the Vijay Merchant Pavilion stand at the west side of the ground," MCA Joint Honorary Secretary Unmesh Khanvilkar told mid-day. MCA has given around 350 passes to former cricketers, according to MCA Treasurer Nitin Dalal, who is looking after the distribution of passes.

"We have accommodated the request of every former cricketer. As is the norm for every international match, we have made special arrangements for our former India skippers in the President's Box so nothing has changed in this regard. But since we have limited space this time, we have no option but to shift some of our former players to the Vijay Merchant Pavilion," said Dalal.
