On investigation, it was found that the call was made from a booth near the Grant Road station. Based on the CCTV footage, the accused was traced from Nalasopara area and arrested yesterday, he said.

Later, Baria confessed to the offence saying he made the hoax call as he was irked over speedy proceedings of his case and annoyed over court giving dates at regular intervals and he had to pay fees accordingly, the officer said.

A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered against Baria at Borivali police station, he said, adding that further probe is on.

In the past, cases of cheating and impersonating public servants had been registered against Baria at Malad and VP Road police stations, police added.
