A 25-year-old woman from Hyderabad, who was working as a domestic help in Saudi Arabia, has been allegedly tortured to death, according to news reports.
The deceased has been identified as Asima Khatoon. It is being reported that she was detained illegally, even after her visa had expired.

The family of the victim came to know about the incident on Thursday after an unknown person called up Asima’s mother from Riyadh and gave her the bad news.
Apparently, some weeks back, Asima had called up her family, and pleaded for help as she was being harassed mentally and physically.
The Telangana government had even written to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on the same. The Telangana Police have now sought details of the death from Saudi authorities.
