Cheating case: The latest is that the Versova police have registered an FIR against him Pratyusha Banerjee’s boyfriend in a cheating case. The case was registered by one Geeta Patel, who claimed she had given him Rs 25 lakh to produce a Hindi film back in 2011. However, according to the complaint, he did not make the film, and hadn’t responded to her the last five years. Patel approached the Versova police two months ago. The Versova cops are now investigating the case.
Heer Patel and Kesha Khambhati
Dubious past: Few days after Pratyusha’s death, four women, accused Rahul Raj of swindling them in the past. In 2011, Rahul apparently persuaded TV actor Heer Patel to invest Rs 25 lakh so he could make a movie with her in the lead. He told her the film would be produced by her father but it was all a con, said Heer. A year before Rahul met Pratyusha, he met another actress – Kesha Khambhati – at a party. Kesha, who acts in movies in the South, said Rahul had flirted with her and then narrated a sob story of how he desperately needed Rs 2.5 lakh to pay his rent. Ex-girlfriend’s allegations: In April 2016, Rahul Raj’s former girlfriend Saloni Sharma told cops that Rahul had cheated her and her father of Rs 25 lakh, on the pretext of starting an event management company. Saloni said that she was in a relationship with Rahul for five years. After their break up, whenever Saloni met Rahul, her only aim was to get her money back in some way. She alleged that Rahul is the kind of guy who targets girls only for the sake of their money. Upon getting to know about Rahul and Pratyusha’s marriage plans, Saloni’s father told Pratyusha’s family about how he had cheated them, but they refused to believe it.
Last call: In Pratyusha Banerjee’s last frantic phone call to her boyfriend, Rahul Raj, she accused him of cheating on her and separating her from her parents.

When Rahul’s lawyer called him a liar: A day after he was booked for allegedly abetting his girlfriend Pratyusha Banerjee’s suicide, Rahul’s advocate Neeraj Gupta withdrew from the case, making a shocking claim — “Rahul is a liar and is not trustworthy. My conscience will not allow me to defend him,” he told mid-day.“When I questioned him, he kept lying and did not give clear answers. Then I learnt the truth about certain things — that he used to hit Pratyusha and treat her badly. I thought of my daughter and realised I could not take his case,” Gupta added.
