Micromax Canvas Book
If cloud-based OSes are not your thing, and you prefer Windows OS, Micromax has a few sweet offerings for you. We, in particular, prefer the Canvas Book L1160 that was launched in May.

Priced at Rs 10,499, the 11.6-inch netbook runs on Windows 10 and is powered by Intel Atom Z3735F processor with 2GB RAM. The device weighs just 1.1 kg, and gets 32GB internal storage (expandable via SD card). Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.1, two USB 2.0 ports, one HDMI port and an Ethernet port. It gets 4,200mAh battery. Those looking for more power may also want to try the 14-inch Ignite series of laptops starting at Rs 18,999. It is powered by quad-core Intel Pentium N3700 processor, 4GB LPDDR3 RAM and features connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, microSD card reader, USB 3.0 ports, micro-HDMI port, and LAN.

Nexian Chromebook
Built by Nexian, the Chromebook launched in mid-2015 continues to be our top pic for those who spend most of their time online but have low budgets. The device runs on the cloud-based Chrome OS and features one of the best keyboards in this price range. It gets 2GB RAM, 16GB EMMC (internal) storage expandable up to 64GB and wireless connectivity features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HDMI and two USB 2.0 ports. The 1.8GHz Cortex A-17 quad core processor with ARM Mali-T764 GPU works beautifully. The only downside is its 11.6-inch TFT display (1368x768) with its limited viewing angles. Xolo Chromebook

Xolo Chromebook
The Xolo Chromebook’s specs are same as that of the Nexian Chromebook — 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage (but expandable only to 32GB), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI and USB. The display is also same at 11.6-inch TFT, but the Xolo Chromebook feels superior in terms of styling and ruggedness. It runs a Rockchip RK3288 SoC featuring Quad-Core Cortex-A17 processors up to 1.8GHz and is powered by a 4,200mAh battery that lasts a good nine hours. The only downsides are the keyboard and the fact that it’s currently out of stock on Snapdeal.com. Read the detailed review of Xolo Chromebook.
