Birmingham: Pakistan were 257 for three in reply to England's first innings 297, a deficit of 40 runs, at stumps on Day Two of the third Test at Edgbaston here yesterday.

Azhar Ali was out for 139 off the last ball of the day when caught by England captain Alastair Cook at first slip off Chris Woakes.
Younis Khan was 21 not out.
Novice opener Sami Aslam (82) and Ali shared a 181-run stand after Pakistan lost Mohammad Hafeez without a run on the board.
