With the police still not offering protection, he is taking his wife back to their hometown to keep her safe from harm
Two days after mid-day reported how the police have failed to offer protection to the whistleblower in the kidney racket, the 23-year-old has decided to take his wife to their hometown so she, at least, can escape the daily death threats.

On Tuesday, this paper had reported that ever since he blew the lid off the transplant racket at Hiranandani Hospital, Sundar Singh Jadhav has been faced with daily threats to his life, with the racketeers and their aides calling him on the phone and even barging into his house to intimidate him into silence. Even though he is the main witness in the investigation, the police have not provided him protection so far, saying they will do it once the chargesheet is ready.

“I am yet to receive police protection despite getting threat calls. I am not scared for my life, but I don’t want anything to happen to my wife,” said Jadhav, who is now on a train to Uttar Pradesh. “I am taking my wife to our hometown. At least, I will be assured of her safety. I will come back and stay in Mumbai until the court proceeding gets over,” he added.
Suresh Gupta, president of the Indian National Trade Union Congress, who helped him to file the police complaint, said, “I was very scared for the security of his wife. He is the star witness; it is the responsibility of the police to give him protection. But despite asking for security, they didn’t listen to his plea so he had no option but to take his wife to their hometown. Now, he will have to fight the odds alone.”
