In yet another reminder of shocking apathy, a video has emerged in which some people from Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur area are seen passing through a pond to carry out a last rites procession.

According to media reports, the people were forced to take the water route since they were denied access of the road route to cremation ground by the sand mafia.
According to the locals, the mafia has taken over the route, and they have complained to the authorities, but they are not doing much.
The incident has come to light a day after the video of a tribal man from Odisha taking his wife’s body home on his shoulder for 10 kms went viral on social media. On being met with a local TV news channel's crew on the way, he explained his plight and they were able to arrange for an ambulance for the rest of the journey after calling District Collector.
