He first 'conferred' gold medals to both Rio Olympic medallists PV Sindhu and Sakshi Malik, and then Sports Minister Vijay Goel continued on his merry way, committing more goof ups.

The minister then decided to consult Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty about sports development in India.

Since Vijay Goel has been appointed the man in-charge of sports, it has seen the minister stoking one controversy after another.

During the Rio Olympics, Goel was hauled up on social media after the Rio organisers pulled him up for his 'unruly entourage', who were in their words 'aggressive and rude'. The Rio Olympic 2016 organisers even threatened to cancel the minister's accreditation if the 'unaccredited people' accompanying him do not end their "aggressive and rude" behaviour.

The minister managed to earn the fans' ire and with it the sobriquet Panauti (unlucky).

But his goof ups continued.

Goel got into additional trouble for tweeting his own picture instead of the athletes. He then misspelt 'Pride of India' Dipa Karmakar's name on Twitter. He compounded the mistake by wishing athlete Srabani Nanda with the image of Dutee Chand.

His latest round of gaffes made the Twitterati decide taht it was time to troll the minister again.
